Making Crepes At Home

The reason why Electric Crepe Makers are a must for cooking French cuisine is because crepes are an integral part of French dining. You could have crepes as a dessert or even make a full meal out of it. The best part about these French recipes is that with good crepe pans, they are easy and fast to make. The essential recipe for all crepes is more or less the same.

You need to mix flour, baking powder, salt to taste and then take some eggs, milk and water. Keep the consistency of this mixture like a thick cream. Then take crepe pans, heat one of them to the desired limit, pour a small amount of the mixture and move around the crepe pan so that the batter spreads out evenly and thinly on the heated surface. The lower surface turns brown in a matter of less than a minute when you flip around the crepe on the crepe pan to cook the other side! You could continue doing this to make as many crepes as you like using the old familiar crepe pans.

The choice of filling the crepes is truly endless. The same crepe pans can be used for filling the crepes with vegetables of your choice. Vegetables that are usually filled in include chopped beans, mushrooms, cauliflower or asparagus. You could even use scrambled eggs along with some cheddar cheese as fillers in your crepe.

Crepe pans are not used for making crepes only, but also for warming or re-heating of crepes.
